Janet's Story
I've finally retired this summer after 22 years in Nursing. Enjoying every moment. Been married three times. Billy Baldwin is the father of our two daughters, Sallie and Jennifer. Sallie has two girls and a boy, Jennifer has one son. Sadly Billy passed on Nov. 9, 2010. My second husband Gene Shiver was also a James Island fella. He passed in 1997 froma massive heart attack, he was only 46. My husband now is Larry Burtt and the best of the bunch. He has two grown sons. Together we have a lovely home in North Charleston, right down the street from Bill Stephens.. Hubby likes doing the landscape maintainence and I do floral arrangements with silk flowers, and of course there are other hobbies too. And Larry is an avid hunter when the season is open. And he has his toys.
It's great both of being retiired and can go and do as we please.

Washinton, DC but I've spent the last 65.5 years in the South. 52+ of those years right here in South Carolina. Gene and I bought a place up in Sunset, SC that was to be our dream home. Unfortunately, he only got to enjoy it for four years. I stayed on until I had the land paid for and then I returned to Charleston the same month that Larry came to Charleston via TN with his oldest son and his wife. We met in January'04 and have been together eve since. We have a good life and I feel so blessed that I have Larry to share it with me.
The darkest week of my life was the month of May in 1997, I lost my Dad to cancer and my husband to a fatal heart attack. In the same week, Three days after Gene's funeral was my 50th birthday. The brightest time was when I met and later married Larry. So life has been good and gets better with each passing day. And love those grands !
